Anthony Scaramucci says he's taking a break from the public life after being fired this week as President Donald Trump's 10-day-old White House communications director — but adds that he'll be back.

"I am now going to go dark … and then I will re-emerge as me," Scaramucci, who calls himself "The Mooch," told The Huffington Post's Vicky Ward.

Scaramucci was fired by Gen. John Kelly, Trump's new chief of staff, just days after he launched a profane tirade against now-former chief of staff Reince Priebus and Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon in an jaw-dropping interview with The New Yorker.

But it appears that Scaramucci is still good buddies with Trump, for whom he raised tens of millions of dollars for during the 2016 presidential race.

"The president told me he knows I have his back, but he has to try to tighten the ship," Scaramucci told the online publication.
