Democrats and the investigative media are not the only ones who disapprove of President Donald Trump's handing of the FBI probe of Russia's election meddling, according to the latest CBS News Nation Tracker poll.
Almost two-thirds (63 percent) of Americans disapprove of how Donald Trump has been handling matters regarding the FBI's investigation into Russia and his campaign, while only 37 percent approve, the YouGov survey published Sunday found.
The poll respondents were a combined 69 percent against Trump in their overall view of the president, though – 19 percent "against Trump" and 40 percent "strongly against" – rendering a fairly consistent anti-Trump sentiment.
When asked about how President Trump makes Americans surveyed feel, the results were less than supportive of the administration, when they could check all that apply:
- Nervous: 48 percent.
- Pessimistic: 32 percent.
- Optimistic: 25 percent.
- Motivated to do things in opposition to him and his policies: 22 percent.
- Confident: 16 percent.

In other results found, 48 percent believe President Trump tried to "stop the investigation" in his talks with fired FBI Director James Comey, while 37 percent believe the talks were not persuasive in nature, and 15 percent percent believed they did not discuss the investigation at all.
The YouGov survey was conducted online among 2,385 adult Americans nationwide from May 17-19 and has a margin of error of 2.5 percent.
