A sworn enemy to big-budget political action committees, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is now eschewing that herself to get in on the action, according to the New York Post.

AOC tweeted a call to contribute Saturday:

"The rumors are true. Today we're announcing the Courage to Change PAC – and we need your help.

We are pushing the envelope in DC by rewarding those who reject lobbyist money, fight for working families,& welcome newcomers.

Change takes courage. Let's go."

AOC's leadership PAC Courage to Change, was actually set up by her within weeks of her 2018 election victory, according to the Post.

Critics of political action committees deride them, according to Issue One: "Private jets, luxury hotels, and expensive meals are par for the course as a majority of leadership PAC spending strays further from its intended purposes."

Her tweet comes at the end of a week she was ripped by House Democrats for refusing to pay her dues to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Post reported.

"Deadbeat Cortez should pay her bills," a House Democratic aide told Fox News. "She's always whining about people paying their fair share and here she is leaving her friends with the bill."

AOC wants more for her campaign in lieu of House Democrats, per the Post, noting her PAC website said "contributions will be divided evenly between Courage to Change and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez," leaving out her fellow Democrats.

AOC raised $1.42 million in Q3 of 2019 and had $1.9 million in cash as of Sept. 30, according to Federal Election Commission figures, the Post reported.
