Alec Baldwin Wants to Run for Office

By    |   Wednesday, 05 January 2011 03:28 PM EST

This may be a case of good news, bad news for conservatives. The bad news: liberal Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin tells CNN’s Eliot Spitzer that he wants to run for political office, Politico reports. The good news: Baldwin has very little chance to win, especially given the country’s conservative turn over the past two years.

Baldwin, run, office, political“It’s something that I’m very, very interested in,” Baldwin says. The country needs as leaders “people who have not lost sight about what the middle class in this country is.” How a wealthy, New York, liberal actor fits that bill is a bit difficult to determine.

In the past, Baldwin has expressed interest in moving to Connecticut and running for Senate in 2012 against independent incumbent Joe Lieberman.
