Famed civil rights attorney Alan Dershowitz said Friday that President Donald Trump's style of "never backing down or apologizing" is not going to change now that he is in the White House.

"His success in business, his success in winning the nomination, winning the election," the Harvard Law School professor emeritus told Anderson Cooper on CNN. "I don't think we're going to see him change much as president."

President Trump earlier Friday refused to back down on his claims that former President Barack Obama wiretapped his New York City telephones during the campaign.

He remained steadfast even after the British government debunked a Fox News report that Obama had enlisted its intelligence agency in the effort.

Dershowitz called Trump's disposition "a brand" — adding that he now has surrogates who can explain his positions or even apologize for him.

"It's also a brand, I think, for him," he told Cooper. "What I think he's done as president is something a little different.

"He now has a 'vice president in charge of saying he's sorry,'" he added. "That doesn't necessarily mean Vice President [Mike] Pence, but there will be people in the White House who will issue apologies.

"He's going to keep the same style and the same tactics that got him here," Dershowitz said. "But he's going to find that he'll need to have people do the diplomacy for him."
