President Barack Obama's communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, will step down this spring, joining a string of top Obama aides leaving the White House.
Palmieri's departure date hasn't been determined, but she'll continue to serve as communications director until she leaves in the coming months. That's according to a White House official who wasn't authorized to comment by name and requested anonymity.
Palmieri served in the Clinton White House and worked as a spokeswoman for North Carolina Sen. John Edwards during his presidential campaign. She was an executive at the Center for American Progress think tank before joining Obama's staff at the start of his second term.
Word of her departure comes the same day as the White House said senior presidential adviser Dan Pfeiffer is also stepping down.
