Las Vegas casino magnate Sheldon Adelson donated $1.2 million to a super PAC supporting Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain.
Adelson, 83, chairman of the Las Vegas Sands Corp., made the donation to the Arizona Grassroots Action PAC in mid-August, according to ProPublica.
The super PAC also received $250,000 each from Republican donors Paul Singer and Sam Fox.
McCain, who is seeking his sixth term, is leading Democrat Ann Kirkpatrick by 16 points, according to a recent Emerson College poll, The Hill reports.
Adelson has pledged to donate $45 million to Republicans this election cycle. He spent about $100 million in 2012.
He also has endorsed Donald Trump and has said he planned to donate $5 million to his campaign.
Adelson and his wife gave $20 million in August to the Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC linked with Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Hill reports.
The group is working to preserve and expand the chamber's GOP majority.
Adelson, who also heads the Republican Jewish Coalition, donated $1 million to a group that opposes legalizing marijuana for recreational use in Massachusetts.
The Campaign for a Safe and Healthy Massachusetts disclosed the contribution on Friday, The Boston Globe reports.
