Sen. Ron Wyden told FBI Director Christopher Wray that he is “deeply concerned” the agency isn’t supplying Democrats with information it is giving to Republicans investigating the Obama administration, The Hill reports.

The Oregon lawmaker is the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee. In a Monday letter sent to Wray, he wrote the FBI isn’t sharing documents it is giving to GOP members of the committee with Democrats on the panel.

He accused the agency of "violating its own policies" and "succumbing to political pressure from Republicans to damage the Democratic presidential candidate," former Vice President Joe Biden.

Wyden referenced an Aug. 7 letter the FBI sent to the Finance and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee providing an "update" on its compliance with the GOP investigations.

Wyden said the letter highlighted documents given to the committees and the ability to review other information. He said the FBI has provided documents to Republicans without telling Democrats about the information or giving them the same opportunity to review the information.

"Based on this letter, it is evident that not only has most of the requested Crossfire Hurricane information that has been provided to the committees not been provided to the ranking members and their staffs, but Democrats were not informed of its existence," Wyden wrote in the letter.

An FBI spokesperson told The Hill the bureau was handing over information to the committee on a “rolling basis.”

"Providing documents to committee majorities without disclosure to the minority is unacceptable. Providing access to documents for review by Republican staffers without notice to, or inclusion of, Democratic staff is also unacceptable," Wyden wrote.

He said he wants to now why Democrats were left out of the loop to begin with. He notes he has spoken with the FBI about how to move forward.

Wyden also asked Wray to respond to whether he or anyone on his staff made the decision to leave Democrats out of the information loop.

GOP senators are conducting two investigations. One involves the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy. The other covers the overall transition from President Barack Obama to President Donald Trump.
