Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., on Sunday charged that Democratic presidential hopeful Michael Bloomberg will try to “write a check” to win the White House.

In an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” McCarthy derided the former New York City mayor and multi-billionaire businessman’s credentials.

“Michael Bloomberg will write a $2 billion [check] to try to not only keep the House, but win the presidency,” he said.

According to McCarthy, Bloomberg “realizes he cannot win the nomination against [Sen.] Bernie [Sanders, I-Vt.] without cheating.”

“Remember, Hillary [Cllinton] cheated Bernie last time to win the nomination,” he said. “The chair of the party had to resign the night before the convention because they were caught. … [Bloomberg] believes he can manipulate democracy.”

McCarthy said the “hypocrisy of Democrats themselves” is also evident in the primary race to the nomination.

They cry about money, but they took more than $100 million from Bloomberg …to buy Congress,” he charged.
