Fired Department of Homeland Security cyber security honcho Christopher Krebs on Thursday denounced as “dangerous” charges by President Donald Trump’s legal team challenging the results of the 2020 election.
Krebs, who led the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, publicly contradicted Trump’s claims that the election was stolen from him prior to his Tuesday firing.
But what triggered Krebs’ ire was a contentious Thursday news conference by Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and members of the campaign’s legal team that declared “massive fraud” was used to steal the election from Trump.
“That press conference was the most dangerous 1hr 45 minutes of television in American history,” Krebs tweeted.
“And possibly the craziest. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you’re lucky.”
While some Republicans have accepted that Joe Biden will be the next president, Trump has continued to declare he won the vote — a standoff that has delayed transition efforts by Biden.
