The Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah militia that helped stage an incursion at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, did so to provoke the U.S. into a military conflict, according to foreign affairs expert Walid Phares, Ph.D., on Newsmax TV.
"These militias at the end of the day wanted to trigger a mini-war with our forces so that they can drift attention from the demonstrations into America," Phares told Wednesday "Newsmax Now."
