Like all wars, conflicts spur innovation and give rise to ideas of how to fight the next one.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict apparently has stoked the imagination of Adm. Samuel Paparo, chief of the U.S. Pacific Command, and apparently some in the Pentagon as to how to use lessons learned in Eastern Europe halfway around the world in the South China Sea.
