The big winner on Election Day was…marijuana. Medical or recreational marijuana is now legal in five more states. In a clean sweep, voters in Arizona, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, and South Dakota all backed ballot measures legalizing marijuana.
Marijuana wasn’t the only drug to get approval. Washington D.C. voters approved an initiative that decriminalizes the use of magic mushrooms and other psychedelic plants. In Oregon, voters supported a measure that decriminalizes “hard” drugs including heroin, cocaine, and meth.
