As the nonprofit cable network C-SPAN celebrates 45 years of giving Americans an unfiltered view into democracy through live government proceedings and public affairs programming, its demise is in question more than ever.

Not only has growing television distributor YouTube TV recently neglected to include the nonpartisan channel in its streaming bundle, but industry experts are increasingly warning about the death of cable television's effects on longstanding household channels.
