The decision by Senate Democrats to drag out Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s brutal confirmation battle and humiliate him with “he said, she said” claims of sexual assault from 36 years ago could carry a steep price tag in November.

As the Kavanaugh confirmation battle rages on, Democrats are bleeding red -- especially in the red states. Ten Democratic senators are running for re-election in states Trump carried in 2016. Pushing the Kavanaugh confirmation vote into October so close to the election energizes the GOP base, and could easily cost Senate Democrats their elections.
