With a lifelong interest in fashion and culture, this writer has naturally always wanted to be featured in a glamour magazine.

Well, she made it just in time for Women’s History Month but shocker, it wasn’t favorable.

Vanity Fair once more showed its disdain for conservative women.

The reporter, Caleb Ecarma, was happy to let loose on Christian women by mischaracterizing and misinterpreting their views.

This partisan style of this type of hit piece disguised as journalism is the reason for the term "fake news." Vanity Fair (VF) allowed Ecarma to repackage and even cut up sentences for his own vengeful narrative from a Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) panel featuring me, Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood worker and pro-life activist; Kimberly Fletcher, Moms for America; and Sandy Rios, a radio talk show host.

Ecarma went even one step further in leaving out critical pieces of the answers I provided to him at his request in order to paint a portrait that millions of American women are paranoid.

Parents are desperate for their children to receive a quality education, but they are also appalled to learn that radical ideologues are callously overstepping their authority by undermining parents’ ability to protect their children.

Any adult, even a teacher or school administrator, who says, "Don’t tell your parents," is not looking after a child’s best interest.

Children are falling behind in basic educational skills, especially in math and science.

Fundamentals are being replaced by some teachers and administrators in favor of gender theory, sexualization, critical race theory, and Marxist ideology.

What Mr. Ecarma and so many in the old school media fail to realize is that the battle over our children is not new.

On the CPAC stage, I referred to a thoughtful piece written recently by former atheist Naomi Wolf, a feminist who is most famous for advising Democrats Bill Clinton and Al Gore on how to win the women’s vote.

Wolf skillfully draws a parallel between the false gods of the Old Testament, Baal and Moloch, and the new false religion of gender ideology and the proverbial sacrifice of our children to those gods.

Wolf, an Oxford educated social scientist, said: "I could not explain the way the Western world simply switched from being based at least overtly on values of human rights and decency, to values of death, exclusion, and hatred en masse . . . "

As I stated to VF, "I am quite sure the people working to expose small children to graphic, sexually explicit material don’t think they are serving a pagan god or that they are damaging children, but this new culture is a cult or replacement religion where they find acceptance and belonging."

Unfortunately, the Christian Church has not been there for them.

As writer C.S. Lewis said, there is a God-shaped vacuum in every person, and that vacuum will be filled by something.

As Tim Keller wrote in his book "Counterfeit Gods" that as humans we can’t help but replace God with our own version: money, fame, power, sex, drugs, alcohol.

But for some it's less obvious.

I believe that "gender warriors" have found their new religion, but it’s not new; it’s actually old. Gnosticism, which was fought by the early Christians, believed that the body and spirit were completely separate.

Christianity says that you are to worship God body, mind, and spirit (I Corinthians 6:19-20) and to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Add to the mix that, shockingly, Satanism, although rare, is becoming more openly practiced. Satanists insist abortion is part of worship.

The Old Testament Canaanites sacrificed their children to Baal.

How is this different?

Purposefully grooming a child, breaking down their innate sense of modesty, and working to introduce confusion and chaos into their little minds is also an evil and should be called out.

The smug community of educators who feel powerful by pulling one over on parents serve darkness whether they know it or not.

We support what parents want, which is educational opportunities tailored to each child’s individual needs.

CWA is very enthusiastic about Education Savings Accounts that have been passed in 10 states with more looking at this option for parents to use their tax dollars to choose the school that best fits the needs of their child.

Open enrollment would allow parents to choose from any school in their area.

Our point is that families should be able to choose from a range of options: public, private, Jewish Day school, Christian, STEM charter school, home tutors, or homeschooling.

No child should be trapped in a substandard school due to their zip code.

My friend, Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears, R-Va., says, "The new redline is the zip codes that trap poor children in failing schools."

Parents are most able to determine what’s best for their children.

The money should follow the child instead of being controlled by government bureaucracies that don’t know that child.

When parents are able to choose, eventually the failing schools will either rise to meet the challenge or close and be replaced by better options.

Women’s History Month is for all women, not just the woke ones.

If Vanity Fair believed in fairness, they would publish an accurate story of conservative Christian women, not project their narrative of what we believe.
