Tamera Mowry, the former child star who starred on "Sister, Sister" with identical twin Tia in the '90s, opened up this week about the hateful racism she encountered online when she married husband Adam Housley in 2011.
Speaking on Friday's episode of the
OWN network's "Oprah: Where Are They Now?", the 35-year-old Mowry said she was shocked at the comments about her relationship with Housley, a Fox News correspondent who is white.
"I get called 'white man's whore,'" she said through tears. "The new one was 'back in the day you cost $300, but now you're giving it to him for free' … It's hurtful, because my husband and I are so openly and fine with showing love, but people choose to look past love and spew hate. That's what hurts me because I've never experienced so much hate ever in my life."

Mowry, who's biracial, said she grew up in a loving family that never taught her to see color.
"I couldn't even fathom or think of these words, because I'm a product of it," she said. "My mom is a beautiful black woman and my dad is an amazing white man, and I grew up seeing a family. I didn't grow up saying, 'Oh, that's a white man.' … I love my husband so much. I love our family. I love our dynamic. I'm proud to be in the relationship I am because it's based on love. Pure love."
Mowry and Housley welcomed their first child, a son named Aden, in 2012.
The Mowry twins announced last week that they are
walking away from their joint reality show on E! after three seasons. The sisters reportedly want to keep their private lives out of the spotlight. Tia Mowry is instead focusing on her Nickelodeon show, "Instant Mom," while Tamera Mowry is working as a panelist on the talk show "The Real."
