And Westheimer, author of the new memoir,
"The Doctor is In: Dr. Ruth on Love, Life and Joie de Vivre," written with Pierre Lehu and published by Amazon, said it's not at all difficult to do.
"Everybody has problems. There's nobody that you know or I know who doesn't have some problems," said Westheimer, 87.
"I want to say make the best out of the time of your life. Now I'm 87 years old and I can still dance a whole night if I find a good partner."
"My husband passed away 15 years ago so I want to tell people everybody has some issues. Everybody has problems at work, at home. Make the best out of your life."
Westheimer said she is a dyed-in-the-wool optimist herself.
"Cherish and … love what you have," she told Steve Malzberg.
