Oliver North: 'Reckoning Time' for Administration on Benghazi

By    |   Tuesday, 05 Nov 2013 12:20 PM

It's "reckoning time" for President Barack Obama's administration, as survivors and witnesses of the Benghazi, Libya, attack meet with members of Congress, Ret. Lt. Col. Oliver North said Tuesday.

"Now it's reckoning time, I hope, for this administration," North, Fox News military analyst, told "Fox & Friends."

"Their goal is to cover up this thing until well after Obama left office. They've done all they can to avoid it," North said.

"This is the kind of thing that goes on when you have an incompetent administration, trying to cover up what they failed to do before, during, and then what they did afterwards," he said.

There are roughly two dozen "eyewitness participants" of the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012, North said.

"I know some of them. And, I know others who know all the rest of them," he said.

He suggested they first seek help from Virginia Rep. Frank Wolf to gain whistleblower status before talking to Congress or the media. Wolf has worked to protect whistleblowers, and is a chief sponsor of legislation creating a House Select Committee on the Terrorist Attack in Benghazi.

"My advice is, before you talk to me or the media, you see Congressman Frank Wolf because you deserve whistleblower status," North said.
