Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., says President Joe Biden’s actions in his first week in office are “just the appetizer.”
“The main meal is still coming and that is (House Speaker Nancy) Pelosi’s HR1, in terms of changing the way we vote,” Waltz said Thursday during an appearance on Newsmax TV’s “John Bachman Now.”
“It’s a full-on power grab, dropping the voting age to 16, banning any state from asking for voter registration, including in there D.C. statehood so they get two more senators. This is what we have to fight and block and tackle against.”
HR1 is the Democrat majority’s package overhauling voting, campaign finance, and ethics laws.
Waltz also slammed California Rep. Jimmy Gomez’s draft resolution to oust Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Congress following reports that the Georgia Republican had called for violence against political opponents and law enforcement officers.
“So much for unity and I would absolutely vote against it,” said Waltz.
“This is what the Democrats do. We can’t debate the Constitution; we can’t debate the issues or interpretation of the law. They go right to personal attacks and the character smears. If Biden is serious about unifying and moving the country forward … he’ll put a stop to this, he’ll put a stop to this impeachment trial, going after a president who has already left office. At the end of the day, they’re pouring fuel on the fire.”
