Chris Wallace Calls Out Christie Over Hypocritical Rubio Criticism

("Fox News Sunday)

By    |   Sunday, 03 January 2016 01:48 PM EST

"Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace on Sunday asked New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie if he was being hypocritical in criticizing Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, his rival for the GOP presidential nomination, in missing votes during his White House campaign.

Wallace noted that Christie himself has not been in New Jersey for 72 percent of the time since announcing his own Oval Office run.

"When you look at the total, over 200 days in 2015, which raises the question — who are you to criticize?" Wallace asked.

Christie countered that he is "on the job every day," saying that it is possible to do his work as governor on the road, while Rubio has to be in the Senate to cast a vote.

"Listen, I understand he can’t be there every day, he’s running for president. I get that," Christie said. "but there was a $1.15 trillion spending bill, which he said he was absolutely opposed to. I would think he would take one day off of fund-raising to cast his no vote and speak on the floor to try to persuade his colleagues."
