Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly condemned a
ruling from the Obama administration that a transgender high school student must be allowed in the girls' locker room despite being born male.
"They're trying to turn our boys into Peeping Toms," Schlafly said Monday on
Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Prime." "I can't imagine why else they would want to go into the girls' restrooms."

The student identifies as a girl and argues for use of the girls' shower and restroom, though the school has tried to compromise by putting a curtained area for the student to use.
Schlafly said most people "think it's ridiculous" and said she is glad the school is trying to fight the Department of Education ruling.
Schlafly also touched on other subjects, including illegal immigration.
"I don't think we ought to be admitting all these illegals, and if they are illegal they ought to be turned around and sent back to where they came from," she said. "America's going to have to realize that some people are trying to change the whole nature of our country. I don't think anybody ought to be let into the country unless he wants to be an American, and I don't think these people do."
She said President Barack Obama probably should be impeached for his judicial overreach on granting amnesty to illegal immigrants and on other issues, but didn’t' see it as a likelihood.
"That's such a tortuous path to travel and nobody seems to want to take that on," she said. "But we hope we'll have a change in the next election."
As for presidential politics, Schlafly said GOP voters want a "take-charge person," and that's why Donald Trump is doing so well.
