Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, says he approves of President Donald Trump's highly personal attack on Mika Brzezinski and believes she and her "Morning Joe" co-host Joe Scarborough are getting a taste of their own medicine.
"I love it – I gotta tell ya – I just love it," DeLay told Newsmax TV host Steve Malzberg.
". . . He is a fighter and he's not going to be bullied. And the press is, particularly Mike and Joe, they are notorious about bullying people. . . . So going after them is perfect. I think he needs to do more of it."

Trump took Twitter to belt the MSNBC power couple Thursday for speaking " badly of me," stating:
"My entire career I fought with the press and never had the stature of a president to be able to do something about it," DeLay said.
"All the pundits and the experts, communications directors, they just hate that you go after the press. They don't want you to do it, and they're constantly trying to stop you from doing it, and I'm sure they're trying to do that with Trump.
"I am so glad that he's going after the media and going after them in a personal way because they're going after him in a personal way."
DeLay also believes Trump is making an impact with his controversial attacks.
"I would just advise him to put together an organization like Media Matters so that people can go after them 24/7," he told Malzberg.
DeLay is the author of "Revival! Revolution! Rebirth!: A Radical Call from the Former Majority Leader of the United States House of Representatives," written with Wallace Henley and published by World Ahead Press.
