Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice might be a candidate for Joe Biden's running mate, but her time in the Obama administration can be summed up as "lying and spying," according to former Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell on Newsmax TV.
"Susan Rice led a team of people at the NSC [National Security Council] that became even more focused on bringing down the Donald Trump administration before it even started," Grenell told Wednesday's "Greg Kelly Reports."
"When they should have been handing over files to do a peaceful transition of power, they upped the ante and went after the Trump administration. Susan Rice's tenure for her entire career can be summed up by saying, 'lying and spying.' This is exactly what she did, and somebody is going to have to answer for these questions."
Grenell's comments came on the same day Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., grilled former acting Attorney General Sally Yates on the basis of the investigation of Gen. Michael Flynn and the FISA warrant to surveil Carter Page.
"I am glad Sen. Graham is trying to get to the bottom of it," Grenell told host Greg Kelly.
Yates rejected the notion there was anti-Trump political bias on the part of herself, former President Barack Obama, or Vice President Biden, but she did acknowledge former FBI Director James Comey could have been classified as having gone "rogue" in the investigation of Gen. Flynn.
