Steve King: Impossible-to-Poll Supporters Will Carry Trump to Victory

By    |   Monday, 07 November 2016 05:00 PM

A surge of support for Donald Trump is sweeping the country — one that is impossible to gage in all of the 11th-hour polls being released, Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, told Newsmax TV.

“I'm watching this Trump momentum that's kind of going on across the country," King told "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"It's about impossible to poll the Trump supporters in America. We've got new people coming out that we've never seen before, that never voted before, that are registered and they have either voted early or they're preparing to vote.

"And I think that means there'll be an adjustment to the polling mechanism that'll begin probably Wednesday morning."

King, a member of the House Subcommittee on Immigration & Border Security, said he believes the Republican presidential nominee is poised to win Iowa, a key swing state in the presidential election.

"I think [he] is and the last time Iowa went for a Republican president was George W. Bush in his reelect. The time before that was [Ronald] Reagan's reelect," King said.

"I know what it felt like in '04. We pushed that hard, and Bush only won Iowa by 10,000 votes, but he won Iowa. And five or six weeks ago, it was clear that Trump was in a significantly better position in Iowa this year than Bush was in '04."

King said one indication of Trump's wide appeal came Sunday at a rally in Sioux City, where his supporters lined up at 1 a.m., some 11 hours before the noon event.
