Gorka: Trump Unlikely to Recertify Iran Deal

Sebastian Gorka told Newsmax TV's Bill Tucker on Wednesday that President Donald Trump will likely not recertify the Iran Deal.

"I was in the Oval on the day the last time the JCPOA Iran deal was recertified and the president made it clear then, Steve (Bannon) and myself were against recertification, so was the president," said Gorka, a former deputy assistant to the president.

"He was not happy with the reasons he was being given by the bureaucracy as to why he should recertify. He was so unhappy that I have been predicting since I left the White House that the president will not recertify a third time and I think the line yesterday from the speech and what he said afterwards is your best indicated of what’s going to happen in a few weeks' time."

Trump, after his U.N. General Assembly speech Tuesday, told reporters Wednesday he made a decision on withdrawing from the agreement but would not say what it was, setting the stage for a particularly contentious meeting of the parties to the deal.

Under the deal struck by former President Barack Obama and other world leaders, Iran agreed to roll back its nuclear program in return for billions of dollars in sanctions relief. A report in July said Trump was planning to scuttle the deal, and assigned White House staffers with the task of preparing for the possibility of decertification for the 90-day review period that ends in October.

Gorka on Wednesday also said he is supporting Roy Moore in an Alabama Senate race because "the voices of individuals who have nothing to do with MAGA in the success of last November the 8th are not dominating in the White House."

He also said Hillary Clinton should "look in the mirror," and come to grips with the fact she lost because of who she is and, "nothing is going to change that."
