Lightning-rod commentator Roland Martin says Fox News has yet to respond to his challenge to debate Bill O’Reilly about the Black Lives Matter movement.
And Martin, host of "News One Now" on TV One, tells
Newsmax TV he believes the cable news network is "afraid" of a meaningful discussion.
"I don't know why Fox is scared," Martin said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"I've actually challenged in the past [O’Reilly colleague] Sean Hannity directly — met him in person — to a debate. He still won't do it, others won't do it.
"I'll be honest, a lot of these folks, they're afraid. They're afraid of actually having a real debate, a real discussion."
Martin has been on the warpath over O'Reilly's crusade against the civil-rights group that has been staging protests over policy brutality across the country.
Martin has challenged O’Reilly to call him to appear on his Fox News show "The O'Reilly Factor." He says O’Reilly has never been vocal about police brutality himself and should get involved or "shut the hell up."
"Fox News loves to put on patsies who they can sort of push around and it's very clear that Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Megyn Kelly, there's no one who could ever push me around," Martin told Steve Malzberg.
"But I would think it actually makes them better. But again, that's the way some folks are. But he threw the challenge out, I raised my hand, and so I'm still waiting for the call.
"My PR people talked to his executive producers, they said they would take the idea to Bill. So if they won't do it, that means Bill has decided himself, no."
