PJ Media's Roger Simon: '60s Racism has Flip-Flopped

Tuesday, 23 Dec 2014 04:29 PM

Racism has dramatically changed in the United States from hatred by whites to hatred by blacks, says Roger Simon, CEO of PJ Media, a conservative news blog.

"When I was working the civil rights movement in the '60s, we didn't think it was going to be about this. What's slowly happened over the last intervening years is that there's been a very sad flop," Simon said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"Now there's more black racism than there is white racism. This is a really sad thing for our country and I don't blame black people for this at all.

"I blame their leadership and white liberal leadership, both of whom have exploited them and created this situation."

Simon took aim at Al Sharpton and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and their sympathizers in the wake of anti-cop rhetoric and last week's execution of two New York City police officers.

"[They have] set up a situation where the dreams of the '60s are smashed and people are running around New York City yelling, 'We want dead cops.' How insane is that? And sad," Simon said.

"Does anybody say racism is a good thing? I don't know. Maybe Al Sharpton, it keeps him in business. The David Dukes of the world stay in business, but they're really marginal figures and it should be marginal."
