Former NYT Mag Editor: Polls Have Proven to Be Inaccurate

Ed Klein, the former editor-in-chief of The New York Times Magazine, said Tuesday the poll showing a dip in President Donald Trump's approval rating is not accurate when it comes to support from his base.

"These polls have proven time and time again to be inaccurate in terms of Donald Trump's depth of support," he told host Rita Cosby on Newsmax TV's "Schnitt Show."

Trump's approval rating dropped to 32 percent, a new low, while 59 percent of Americans said they disapprove of the job he is doing, a new IBD/TIPP poll revealed.

Klein thinks the president's base is "very strong" for "many reasons."

"One is his policies; two, I think they love his behavior," he said. "When he said to the law enforcement officers on Long Island, 'don't be nice to these guys when you put them in the car, where you're putting your hand over,' I think the base loves that, because they understand these are bad guys, and they shouldn't be treated so nicely."
