Watching Donald Trump over the past week has been like seeing "a grown man deteriorate," veteran pollster John Zogby tells
Newsmax TV.
Zogby says Trump's increasingly controversial statements — that women should be punished for illegal abortions and a refusal to rule out dropping a nuclear bomb on Europe — have put his once unshakable campaign into a bit of a tailspin.
"He's had a very bad ride this week," Zogby, president of Zogby Analytics, said Thursday to J.D. Hayworth on "Newsmax Prime."

"I've got to be the one to say the emperor has no clothes. I watched Donald Trump with Anderson Cooper [on CNN] the other night and I had a sense I was watching a grown man deteriorate and I'm being very honest about that.
"He sounded like he was coming apart. He sounded like he needs a break and he sounded like actually a man who just cannot accept any controversy, which he generates all the time, or any criticism whatsoever."
And that spells big trouble for Trump's chances in Tuesday's Wisconsin primary with its 42 winner-take-all delegates up for grabs.
"He's down by double digits where he had been leading just about 10 days ago," Zogby said, referring to Sen. Ted Cruz's growing lead over Trump in the Badger State.
"I think that Cruz is going to win and I wonder if John Kasich is going to come in second because you know what's really happening here is the united Republican establishment and a unity among radio talk show hosts at the same time [are hurting Trump].
"It's breathtaking for those who have opposed Trump from day one … that this finally seems to be happening."
