Vallely, Hoekstra: 'Outrageous' to Invite Muslim Brotherhood to White House

By    |   Monday, 16 Feb 2015 02:59 PM

President Barack Obama has been "aiding and abetting the enemy" in the fight against terrorism by allowing members of the Muslim Brotherhood into the White House, Gen. Paul Vallely told Newsmax TV on Monday.

The result was that it was "putting the nation at great risk and great harm," Vallely said on "America's Forum."

"If we track back over a number of years here, we've seen that there's been an aiding and abetting of the enemy continually by this administration. And, when you do that, you allow the enemy even into the White House, the Muslim Brotherhood infiltration," said Vallely, a retired Army major general.

Obama invited American Muslim leaders to the White House on Feb. 4, but offered few details about the meeting and failed to provide a list of the people who attended, according to Breitbart.

Pete Hoekstra, a former Republican congressman from Michigan, told "America's Forum" on Monday that it was "absolutely outrageous" for Obama to invite "the Muslim Brotherhood into our government to meet with the White House," adding it was indicative of the Obama administration's "policy failures."

"These are people who are committed to destroying our way of life," Hoekstra said. "The policy failures go on and on and on, and that's how we need to be addressing this president and challenging him that his policies are just not working."

The U.S. fight against terrorists in Afghanistan was taking place in a more defensive than offensive strategy, Vallely said, adding it was a "very complex" decision to determine how to withdraw U.S. troops after over a decade of fighting.

"You've got those 10,000 troops there, most of them behind the wire now, and not out on active missions, other than a few advisers with the Afghan army. As I've said before, I would not shed one more ounce of blood in the Middle East or Afghanistan unless we have the strategy to win. And, we don't have that now," he said.

Hoekstra said a problem for the U.S. was "the threat out of Northern Africa going into Europe," with the "immediate risk" posed by returning American fighters who had joined ISIS.
