Oliver North to Newsmax TV: Protests an 'Effort to Cause Coup' Against Voters

(Newsmax TV/"The Chris Salcedo Show")

The protests and growing violence in America's cities are not just a "happenstance" but have been very well planned as an "extraordinary effort to cause a coup against the American voters," who would support the reelection of President Donald Trump, political commentator and retired Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North told Newsmax TV Monday.

"This has been growing," North told Newsmax TV's "The Chris Salcedo Show." "It's been growing ever since President Trump was nominated...this is going to continue right up on through the election on Nov. 3. I don't see any of this kind of stuff stopping."

North quoted a passage from George Orwell's "1984," about rewriting history and destroying records, commenting that the famed author "got the dates a little bit off," but the book could have been written in 2020, said North.

"It's lunacy, the idea that we're going to defund the police in America," he said. "When you dial 911 in Chicago the police can't get there in time because they can't just go directly they have to avoid certain areas."

North also commented that the mainstream media is "so far off to the left, they don't even count anymore."

"Everybody wonders,  why do young people go to social media to get their information?" he said. "Because they don't trust the press they know what the repress reports and what the press refuses to report."

North also said he agrees with Salcedo that the left is taking advantage of race issues in the United States after polls showed Trump with high ratings in the African American community while people were still working.

"When you consider the effects of this COVID-19 pandemic on jobs in America, they've been hit the hardest," said North. "The far left is capitalizing on that with these riots, the burning, the arson...entire city blocks of down Manhattan are literally boarded up."

He added that the "goal" is to "keep people out of work through Nov. 3. My prayer is that this rebound, which we're seeing slowly but surely, is going to be very dynamic in the third and fourth quarters here in the United States. I'm going to pray for it. If we don't pray for America we're in deep trouble."
