Trump Jr., 40, an executive director of the Trump Organization, talked with Newsmax TV hosts John Cardillo, Miranda Khan, and Dr. Gina Loudon.
"The reality is, I don't really think he cares," he added. "That's not a matrix by which — a couple of elite people in a room decides who gets it."
Two Norwegian lawmakers nominated President Trump on Wednesday for the Nobel after this week's summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in Singapore.
Trump Jr. noted former President Barack Obama was nominated early — 39 weeks — into his first term in 2009 "for having done what, right?"
"It doesn't mean anything for him," Trump Jr. reiterated.
"If he gets it, great. If he doesn't it doesn't matter.
"The prize would be peace," he said.

Turning to the report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz slamming former FBI Director James Comey's actions during the Hillary Clinton email probe, Trump Jr. likened the watchdog to a company's human resources department.
"The IG seems like the HR department of a big corporation," he told the Newsmax TV hosts. "They make it seem like they're working for you, the employee, but they're really working for the corporation, right?
"Comey didn't follow procedure — and, frankly, that was the shocker, given all of his contradictions, all of the stupidities you've seen coming out of his mouth in the past two months.
"There was a lot of shady stuff going on."
