Presidential candidate Larry Elder is declaring total war on Fox News and the Republican National Committee for keeping him off the debate stage Wednesday night.
Appearing Thursday on Newsmax, Elder confirmed that his campaign filed a complaint to the Federal Election Commission, accusing the two of changing the debate's qualification rules at the last minute.
"By using the criteria unfairly against Larry Elder, what happened last night was an in-kind political contribution to the eight people that did make the debate stage by the RNC and by Fox, because Fox hosted the debate," Elder told "The Chris Salcedo Show."
"Both those entities can face fines as much as $100 million," he continued. "We've threatened to go and file a complaint with the FEC. We gave them until 2:00 [p.m. Eastern Daylight Time] yesterday to put me on the debate stage. They did not."
At the heart of the RNC's rejection, Elder pointed out, was their decision not to count Rasmussen Reports polling data over its alleged connections to former President Donald Trump's campaign.
Elder said he turned in another poll after discovering the Rasmussen one did not count but was denied because he sent it in after the deadline.
"Well, that's because we didn't know you were going to drop one of the polls that we turned in before the deadline," the longtime radio host and former California gubernatorial candidate emphasized.
He isn't the only one challenging Fox and the RNC's behavior leading up to the debate. Perry Johnson, another GOP candidate, also filed a complaint Wednesday against them.
"The corrupt and rigged RNC debate process has been a trainwreck from the beginning," Johnson stated Tuesday. "Our campaign hit every metric put forward by the RNC, and we have qualified for the debate."
