Focusing on crowd size by announcing that a million people had reserved tickets for President Donald Trump's Tulsa rally was a tactical mistake by his campaign, but the president scored a strategic win by outlining his winning campaign strategy and a plan that will work to defeat Joe Biden this fall, former presidential adviser and campaign consultant Dick Morris told Newsmax TV Monday.
"Trump articulated a winning campaign strategy for the first time in that speech," Morris said on Newsmax TV's "Spicer & Co." "He said that when you combine Joe Biden's weakness, habit of obedience submissiveness with the outrageous craziness of the radical left. And you combine them, you have a presidency that will be controlled by the likes of AOC (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez)."
Morris also commented that Trump outlined that with Biden as president and a Democratic Congress, "there will be nobody there to stop them, and that is the key thing of the Trump campaign."
In the past, Trump has focused on Biden's mental stability and age, but "in an age of postnuclear war, that's not what it used to be. You can live with a president whose advisers are okay," said Morris.
But if those advisers are too far to the left, and they are "making him sign stuff and do stuff to abolish the police, abolish the DEA, the IOC, affirmative action for everything, no cars, no fracking, no oil, no coal, you're going to have a president run by the radical left," Morris said of Trump's message.
Ultimately, voters' "fear of the left will overcome the fear of Trump," he concluded.
