Rep. Cloud to Newsmax: Migrant Transfers Expose White House Hypocrisy

By    |   Wednesday, 28 September 2022 03:06 PM EDT

The White House has been speaking out about the migrants that are being sent from Texas to Democrat-run cities like Washington, D.C., Chicago, and New York City because "nobody likes it when their hypocrisy is exposed," Rep. Michael Cloud said on Newsmax Wednesday.

"If it wasn't so tragic what's happening to these migrants through the hands of the cartels, it would be laughable," the Texas Republican said on Newsmax's "National Report." "They claim to be sanctuary cities but they get a handful of what Texas gets every day and suddenly, they're all up in arms about it."

His comments come after White House adviser Keisha Lance Bottoms, the former mayor of Atlanta, accused GOP governors of playing around with people's lives with the transports.

Cloud, though, pointed out that the buses and planes heading out with immigrants aren't the first, as the Biden administration has been shipping people all over the country.

"I've been traveling quite a bit, as you can imagine, going from Texas to D.C., and we've had migrants on our flights," he said. "The federal government's been doing this for quite some time, sending them to where they want to be."

Migrants are paying "thousands of dollars" to the cartels to come across the border, "some paying it with their lives or with servitude after they get to wherever they're going," said Cloud. "So they make it a deal with the devil in the sense of these cartels, and our policies continue to aid and abed these cartels who profited, I think something over $2 billion in the last year when it comes to what's going on."

Further, the cartels have an "outstanding influence" in countries that are trying to develop, said Cloud, meaning there's no way you're going to have a stable government in Mexico, central South America, and all these countries as long as our administration continues to help the cartels."

The congressman also on Wednesday spoke out about the administration's claims on the Inflation Reduction Act, and complaints from the president about Republicans voting against it.

"I educate people all the time that the bill," he said. "The title of the bill is purely marketing and has nothing to do with what's in the bill, and that's certainly the case in the Inflation Reduction Act. It doesn't reduce inflation. It was a massive Green New Deal bill."

Further, the administration is "turning a blind eye and a deaf ear" to the American people on the bill, because prices of groceries are going up, gas is still high, and until that changes, "you're not going to be able to fool the American people when it comes to the economy and inflation," said Cloud.
