Donald Trump's vow to slash taxes for millions of Americans and tighten loopholes used by Wall Streeters is a formidable, but complex plan, economist and policy expert Matt Kibbe, a senior advisor at Concerned American Voters, tells
Newsmax TV.
"It's a serious tax plan … He does lower rates from 7 to 4 [percent]," Kibbe said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

But Sen. Rand Paul's proposal for a flat tax is still preferable, adds Kibbe, author of
"Don't Hurt People and Don't Take Their Stuff: A Libertarian Manifesto," published by William Morrow.
"The reason I like a simple flat tax is because once you start rearranging deck chairs in an extremely complicated tax code," Kibbe said. "It's hard to explain, you're never going to make the left happy about the distribution of income, and see, this whole notion that we have to get to revenue neutrality, it's all funny numbers."
"So he gets caught into the trap and sort of an inside the Beltway trap — ironically, for Donald Trump."
Kibbe has been a longtime supporter of Paul who is distantly trailing Trump in the polls.
