Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Wednesday he wasn't too surprised at how well Donald Trump performed in Tuesday's presidential election.
Paxton appeared on the "Joe Pags Show" on Newsmax TV and said he had a feeling Trump would take swing states like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
"My cousin lives in Michigan and she sent me a text yesterday morning and said she was at a huge banquet Sunday night in Holland, Mich. and she said, 'everybody here says Michigan's going to Trump,'" Paxton said.
"And when she said that, I thought, 'if Michigan's going to Trump, then he's going to get other states like maybe Wisconsin, Iowa, he may have Pennsylvania.' I just figured our chances of winning were a lot better than what the polls were showing and what the media was talking about."

Official Michigan results have not yet been released, but Trump has a slim lead with nearly all of the votes counted.
Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral votes, on the other hand, ended up being what propelled Trump to the presidency early Wednesday.
Paxton added that he never thought Texas would turn blue and vote for Democrat Hilary Clinton, even though there was talk prior to the election that said otherwise.
"I'm out around Texas all of the time and I just did not see the change that they were talking about," Paxton said.
Paxton also addressed celebrities who have vowed to either move out of the United States in the wake of Trump's win or have their states succeed from the union.
"I suggest to Donald Trump, let them use the plane, they can leave tomorrow. Give them the plane, let them go," Paxton said. "You know what, we settled that decision a lot time ago, we had a civil war, it's pretty ludicrous."
