Ken Blackwell: Congress Should Pass Keystone XL Pipeline

By    |   Friday, 12 Dec 2014 05:27 PM

Congress should strive to get the Keystone XL Pipeline project passed when the GOP lawmakers assume control of Capitol Hill in January, says Ken Blackwell, a senior fellow at the Family Research Council.

"There should be no more impediments to approve it now that we have well over 245-247 GOP members of the House and a clear majority in the Senate that wants to get this country moving ahead, headed towards energy independence and the creation of 20,000 jobs in the heartland of the country," Blackwell said Friday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Blackwell, the former mayor of Cincinnati, said Congress must strive to stimulate the nation's economy.

"We need to get our economy growing again. We need not only American ingenuity, we need to revitalize the small business sector," he said.

"That's because, that's where all the jobs have been created. Not all the jobs, but most of the jobs and that will be a source of a work opportunity for many Americans."
