Bo Dietl: Jeff Sessions Should 'Man Up' at DOJ

(Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Now")

Attorney General Jeff Sessions needs to "man up" and start doing his job at the Department of Justice, former NYPD detective Bo Dietl told Newsmax TV.

Dietl appeared on Monday's "Newsmax Now" and took issue with Sessions' recusal from all things related to the special counsel investigation of whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

In the wake of FBI raids on offices, an apartment, and a hotel room tied to President Donald Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen, Dietl said Sessions should step in and oversee that probe.

"I'm so surprised about Attorney General Sessions," Dietl said. "He's gotta man up. I'm talking man to man. You've gotta man up and realize what's going on with your underboss [Deputy Attorney General Rod] Rosenstein.

"This is so ridiculous right now with the scope of the investigation, what has happened. . . . You're the attorney general. You should be overseeing what's going on right now."

Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said he plans to ask the DOJ whether Sessions was notified about the Cohen raids before they took place.

"Cohen is 'not just any lawyer,'" Jordan said, but the "lawyer for the president of the United States . . . It is an interesting point [of Sessions knew about it], and we'll find out."
