As chief physician at the notorious Auschwitz death camp, Mengele gained a reputation as one of the most cruel and soulless SS officers in Germany. Not only did he perform painful, often deadly experiments on prisoners, including his infamous procedures on twins, but Mengele was also tasked in selecting those captives deemed unfit for hard labor to be put to death in the gas chambers.

Of all of the despicable monsters working under Adolf Hitler, Mengele was “the big fish” sought for justice at the end of the war. But as the allied forces stormed into Germany, Mengele simply disappeared. Nazi hunters then discovered that, assisted by a network of former SS officers, Mengele had fled to South America, where he evaded capture for the rest of his life while hiding out in Bueno Aires, then Paraguay and finally Brazil.

Who was Dr. Mengele? And why was he never caught? Through rare archival footage and interviews with his family and those who knew him, Newsmax TV profiles the notorious “Angel of Death.”

“Josef Mengele: Hunting a Nazi Criminal.” adds to the diverse programming featured on Newsmax TV, now carried in more than 40 million U.S. satellite and cable homes.
