Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., told Newsmax TV on Monday that President Donald Trump was “totally right in what he’s asking for” during his recent phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
Hice told “John Bachman Now” on Monday that the on call, which was reported over the weekend, “the president is totally right in what he's asking for.”
The congressman added, “He's not asking for the Secretary of State to create, out of the blue, some certain number of votes to see that he wins. What he’s saying is what we all know: there are tens and tens and tens and tens of thousands of invalid votes in Georgia, perhaps in the hundreds of thousands, and the president is simply saying, ‘let's investigate and go after those votes. Let’s see what’s valid, and cast out the illegal ballots so that we have an accurate count.’”
He continued, “The president is totally convinced, as I also am, that President Trump won Georgia and he won it significantly, and all he is saying is, ‘let’s have an accurate count of the votes, let’s prove it.’ And I believe the Secretary of State owes that to not only the president, but the people of Georgia and the United States.”
