Why has the memory of a president who died more than 50 years ago remained as vital and vibrant today as his presence was back then?

John F. Kennedy's lasting appeal is explored in the extraordinary documentary "JFK Remembered: 50 Years Later," which airs on Newsmax TV Saturday, September 22, at 8 p.m./ET.

Kennedy's youth, energy, and charisma inspired a nation. He brought to the White House a young family, a beautiful wife, a sense of urgency, and an optimism for the future.

"JFK Remembered" charts the course of Kennedy's 1,000-day presidency, from his inaugural speech ("ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"), the Bay of Pigs invasion, the defusing of the Cuban Missile Crisis, through his tragic assassination on Nov. 22, 1963.

Kennedy's presidency saw the signing of the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, the establishment of the Peace Corps, and the initiation of Project Apollo to put a man on the moon.

His domestic policy, dubbed the "New Frontier," promised improvements in civil rights for minorities and increased federal spending for education.

And his famous June 1963 speech in West Berlin, with its memorable declaration "Ich bin ein Berliner" (I am a citizen of Berlin) still resounds today.

The 93-minute documentary airing on Newsmax TV features rare footage from the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and an interview with Ronald Reagan discussing Kennedy's legacy and impact on the world.

The documentary adds to the diverse programming featured on Newsmax TV, the new lifestyle, news, and information channel.

With compelling original shows such as "The Jesse Lee Peterson Show," "Newsmax Now," "America Talks Live," "The Wayne Allyn Root Show," "The Brett Winterble Show," "The Howie Carr Show," "The Joe Walsh Show," "The Joe Pags Show," and "The Schnitt Show," Newsmax TV has become the nation's must-watch news, lifestyle, and information channel.
