Aviation Expert Fuscus: Ban on US-Israel Flights Will Be Brief

By    |   Wednesday, 23 July 2014 02:05 PM EDT

The Russians committed "mass murder" in shooting down a Malaysian airliner packed with 298 passengers last week, aviation expert and former airline industry spokesman David Fuscus tells Newsmax TV.

"Let's just call this what it is," Fuscus said Wednesday. "Either the Russians are involved either directly, or by compliance, because they gave the weapons to the separatists and these are not shoulder-fired, easy-to-use weapons. These are sophisticated weapons that take technical training, technical expertise to fire, and at the core of this, let's say what everybody knows: it's the Russians."

Fuscus also discussed the FAA's ban on commercial air traffic from the U.S. to Israel, noting the directive was issued out of an abundance of caution.

"The FAA is not an organization that usually moves quickly, but in this case, after a plane just got shot down, they thought it'd be good to put a ban on quickly," he said.

He predicts it will be quickly lifted once U.S. security officials are assured that Israeli security measures are working as they are intended.

"The Israeli system has layers of security, and it certainly has the most sophisticated anti-missile defense system in the world," Fuscus said.
