Hunter Biden speaking out Wednesday against House Republicans’ request for closed-door testimony sounds like “he’s in favor of an impeachment inquiry” against his father, President Joe Biden, Rep. Anthony D’Esposito, R-N.Y. told Newsmax Wednesday.
“He is saying that the facts being presented are not the ones that he believes, so I think that this is a perfect opportunity for the rest of the members of the House of Representatives to see what I believe is the great work that the three committees of jurisdiction have been doing and that’s exactly what an impeachment inquiry does,” D’Esposito said during an appearance on Newsmax TV’s “National Report.”
“It gives us the ability … this is a step following the investigations that have been conducted by the Judiciary, Oversight, Ways and Means committees and I look forward to seeing, especially as investigator, someone who has spent his career in the NYPD as a detective, I look forward to seeing the results of their investigations.
After that we can make an educated decision on how and if we move forward.”
On Capitol Hill Wednesday Hunter Biden said he’s prepared to answer questions from House Republicans, but reiterated he would only do so in public.
"What are they afraid of? I'm here, I'm ready," he said.
Of House Republicans, he said, "They have no shame."
"There is no fairness or decency" in their investigation, he said. "They've lied over and over again.
"They've invaded my privacy, attacked my wife and children ... tried to dehumanize me and embarrass and damage my father."
He acknowledged he's made mistakes in his personal life, "but to suggest it's grounds for an impeachment inquiry is absurd."
