Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., on Wednesday demanded Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger “get to the bottom” of signature verification in presidential balloting.
In an interview on Newsmax TV’s “John Bachman Now,” Hice said the official’s count of fraudulent signatures in the razor-thin race between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden Nov. 3 “is wrong.”
“This is not rocket science,” said Hice, who has been an ardent critic of the certification of Biden’s win in the state after the race resulted in a razor-thin margin for Biden.
“We just simply want to find out if these were legal or illegal. Remember the absentee ballots [last election] — 3% of them were cast out because the signatures were invalid,” he said.
“According to the secretary of state's own record this time, it's .03%. So that’s 10 times fewer ballots have been tossed out because of fraudulent signatures. That just sounds wrong. It is wrong. So we need to get to the bottom of this.”
Hice also was outraged at suggestions ballot envelopes have not been preserved in the 2020 count.
