Guilfoyle To Newsmax TV: WH 'Very Focused' Amid Riots In DC

The White House maintained a “measured, composed” attitude amid riots in the nation’s capital and around the nation, with President Donald Trump focused on achieving “justice for George Floyd,” senior campaign adviser Kimberly Guilfoyle said Thursday.

In an interview on Newsmax TV’s “Greg Kelly Reports,” Guilfoyle said as the chaos erupted in response to the May 25 death of Floyd while in police custody, it was “all hands on deck” at the White House.

”There's a very measured, composed attitude and demeanor and very focused on what's going on,” she said. “The president obviously is deeply distressed and disturbed by the violence of the rioters, while still trying to  honor the memory of Georgia Floyd.:”

“He been really adamant, steadfast in his desire and his focus to achieve justice for George Floyd,” she said, adding that “the president denounces any kind of violence or any kind of police brutality or excessive use of force. But at the time … what happens there … does not represent all officers.”

Guilfoyle also praised the reelection campaign team’s voluntary contributions to some small businesses in Minneapolis that were wiped out by the rioting in that city following Floyd’s gruesome death.

Those contributions included money to rebuild the business of a former Minneapolis firefighter Korboi Balla whose dream of opening a bar went up in smoke when rioters set the structure ablaze, she said.

“You see our campaign actually contributing to rebuild a business,” she said, noting the left has contributed to bailing out protesters.

“That's the best of America coming together regardless of race regardless of your socioeconomic background. That is the vision and the beauty of this country as we stand united,” she said.

She also denounced the burning of the nearby St. John’s Church, and defended Trump being photographed in front of the damaged structure and holding up a bible.

“This, the bible, the word of God, belongs to all of us,” she said. “It shouldn't be used in a partisan fashion to try to divide the country… God bless the president for standing up as a man of faith to go there and pay respects. My God, who could even do that to desecrate and tried to destroy a house of worship. Are we in the Middle East right now? Is this ISIS?”
