Zogby: 'Fox Cannot Afford to Have This Debate Canceled'

Donald Trump and Fox News executives will kiss and make up before Thursday's Republican presidential debate with the GOP front-runner backing down from his threats to boycott the event if the network doesn't replace moderator Megyn Kelly, veteran pollster John Zogby says.

"This defines symbiotic relationship — Donald Trump and the Fox executives," Zogby said Monday on Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Prime" with J.D. Hayworth.

"They know each other and they've been able to [work] successfully with each other after each of these faux crises."

The billionaire developer has been at war with Kelly since the first GOP debate, when he accused the Fox News star of deliberately targeting him with questions about how he viewed women using outrageous quotes — some from his "Apprentice" show.

The next morning Trump made a veiled reference to Kelly's menstrual cycle, prompting Fox chief Roger Ailes to call him to smooth things over.

But in recent days, Trump has gone after Kelly again and has threatened to boycott the debate and hold his own "town hall" event unless is Kelly is booted.

"Fox cannot afford to have this debate canceled and as far as the Donald is concerned, he's broken all the rules thus far and he's always won. The show will go down and everybody will win," Zogby said.

Last year, Zogby told Newsmax TV that Trump was a flash in the pan and that his lead in the polls wouldn't last. He now admits he blew the call.

"I was wrong, a lot of us were wrong, but I'll stand in line first and say he's broken all of the rules, all of the conventions," Zogby said.

"I taught history for 24 years and this one is really for the history books. No, he did not fade away, did he?"
