Bill O'Reilly to Newsmax TV: FBI Committed Fraud If It Planted Stories

FBI officials broke the law if they leaked stories to the media and then used those stories as probable cause to obtain FISA warrants, Bill O'Reilly told Newsmax TV.

During an appearance on "The Wayne Allyn Root Show," O'Reilly commented on a claim made by Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., that accused the FBI of using the practice.

"If the FBI planted stories and then used the plants in the media to convince a judge to get them a surveillance warrant, that's fraud," O'Reilly said.

"If it's true, if it can be proven, these FBI people — including the former Attorney General [Eric] Holder — they may have some problems. Certainly [former FBI Director] James Comey will have big problems."

The issue, O'Reilly said, would be getting someone to actually investigate the allegations.

"Who's going to investigate that?" O'Reilly asked. "Who's going to do that? Is [Attorney General] Jeff Sessions gonna order the head of the FBI to do it? Is President Trump gonna order it?

"It makes for headlines and good discussions with you and me, but if they're not gonna look into it with a methodical basis [of] was a crime committed by the FBI, then it goes nowhere."
