Shepard Smith's rant against President Donald Trump on Fox News has discredited him as a journalist, noted conservative and bestselling author David Horowitz told Newsmax TV.
"This is ridiculous, this is Shep Smith discrediting himself, delegitimizing himself, and showing that he's no journalist," Horowitz, author of "Big Agenda: President Trump's Plan to Save America" told host Miranda Khan on Monday's "America Talks Live."
"People like Shep Smith are gunning for Trump. I watch Fox, I didn't see Shep Smith going out and saying that about Hillary Clinton, when we know she lied to the FBI, she lied to the Congress, she lied to the American people, she lied to the mother of the Benghazi victim, over his coffin."

Smith, one of Fox's senior anchors, took White House officials to task Friday over their failure to disclose meetings with Russian officials and nationals during the president's 2016 presidential campaign and transition period before he took office.
"Why is it lie after lie after lie?" Smith asked on his program "Shepard Smith Reporting" as he chatted with colleague Chris Wallace.
"If you come on clean — my grandmother used to say, 'Oh, the tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. The deception, Chris, is mind boggling. And, there are still people out there who believe we're making it up, and one day they're going to realize we're not."
Horowitz, a liberal-turned-conservative who is founder of The David Horowitz Freedom Center, was not impressed by the comments.
"Why would you act in a way, in an open way like his grandmother wants, when you have this vast army of unhinged Trump attackers?" Horowitz said. "This Russia thing has been going on now for nine months, there's no evidence of any collusion.
"Why is it the front-page news all day, every day? There is nothing like this feeding frenzy, sharks, and they're out to get the Trumps, and they'll do it any way they can. . . . What I'm saying is the media has discredited itself by being so one-sided and partisan and unhinged when it comes to Trump."
